Once you have finished editing your video in Tella, you are ready to share it with viewers or download it to publish elsewhere.
Share your video
- Open your video in the editor.
- In the top right, click Share.
- Click Copy link to copy the video link to your clipboard.
- Paste and send the link to anyone you want to share it with. They can watch the video in their browser.
Change who can access your video
In the share menu, you can choose who is allowed to view the video.- Anyone with the link: anyone you send the link to can watch.
- Workspace members: only people on your team can watch. If the video is embedded on an external site, viewers who are not signed in to your workspace see a “Video unavailable” message with a link to watch it on Tella.
- Password protected: anyone with the link can open the page, but they will need the password to watch.
Preview what viewers will see
When you share your video, viewers will not see the editor. They will see the video view page instead.- In the top right of the editor, click the Play icon.
- Review the view page to confirm everything looks right.
- Edit the video title
- Add a call-to-action button
- Play the video to review the final result
Call-to-action buttons
You can add up to two call-to-action (CTA) buttons to your video. CTA buttons appear on the video view page and in embeds, giving viewers a clickable link alongside your video.Workspace default CTAs
Your workspace can have default CTA buttons that automatically appear on all videos. When a workspace default is set, each video inherits those buttons without any extra setup. To change the workspace default, go to your workspace settings.Customize or remove CTAs per video
From the video view page, click a CTA button to open the CTA editor. You have three options:- Keep the workspace default — the video uses whatever CTA is set at the workspace level. If the workspace default changes later, the video updates automatically.
- Customize for this video — override the workspace default with a custom label and URL for this video only.
- Remove from this video — hide the CTA on this video without affecting the workspace default or other videos.
You can generate embeddable content to paste directly into an email, so recipients see a preview of your video without leaving their inbox.- Open your video in the editor.
- Click Share in the top right, then click Email.
-
Choose a format:
- Animated — an animated GIF preview. Works in all email clients.
- Static — a still image preview. Works in all email clients.
- Video — an HTML5 video that plays inline. Works in Apple Mail, iOS Mail, and Superhuman. Other email clients show a clickable thumbnail that links to the video.
- Click Copy code to copy the HTML snippet, then paste it into your email.
The Video option requires that your video has been exported at least once. If no export is available, you will see a message prompting you to export first.
Download your video
If you want to publish your video somewhere else (for example YouTube, LinkedIn, or X), you can download it as a file.- Open your video in the editor.
- In the share menu, click Download.
-
Choose your download options, such as:
- Type — video, audio, subtitles, or a thumbnail (JPG, WebP, or animated GIF)
- Subtitles — how subtitles are included
- Video size — resolution for the export
- Frame rate — frames per second for video exports
- Speed — change the export speed or create a timelapse (paid plans only)
- Click Download to download the file to your computer.
While your download is preparing
Larger videos can take a few minutes to prepare. While the Preparing download modal is open, you can:- Close the window — if you are signed in, Tella keeps preparing your download in the background and emails you a link when it’s ready. Reopen the same download menu later to find the file.
- Cancel — click Cancel in the modal to stop preparing the download. The button is only available if you are signed in.
If another teammate has already started the same download with the same settings, you’ll join their in-progress export instead of starting a new one. Everyone who requested it gets the completion email, and cancelling only removes you from the email list — the download keeps preparing for anyone else who is still waiting.
