If your video is taking a long time to load in the editor, not opening at all, or causing the editor to hang, try enabling low-res mode (also called Edit faster). Low-res mode is on by default for new videos, so this is mostly relevant if you previously turned it off.

How to enable low-res mode

  1. Open your video in the editor.
  2. In the top toolbar, click the Low-res button (the flame icon) to toggle it on.
This uses a lower-resolution preview while you edit, which speeds up loading and makes the editor more responsive, especially for longer videos or on slower computers.

When to use low-res mode

  • Your video takes a long time to load
  • The editor feels sluggish or unresponsive
  • You’re working on a longer video
  • Your computer has limited RAM or processing power

Does this affect my final video quality?

No. Low-res mode only affects the preview while you’re editing. When you export or share your video, it will be rendered at full quality.
